Reviewed radiographs and agree with left pelvic fracture. I am concerned that there is outward rotation of the left ischium and subsequently L leg. Palpation is NSF. Bird walks very tentatively but perches fairly normal. Continue as prescribed. -Dr. Gardner

Recheck Radiographs/Exam of Pelvis: Patient placed under brief general Isoflurane anesthesia for recheck radiography to evaluate pelvis.
Palpation of the pelvis is normal today and extension of both pelvic limbs is normal on palpation.
Recheck radiographs today show improvement in terms of healing of the left ischial fracture, left side. There appears to be slight deviation remaining of the left ishium but overall the radiographs look improved and patient is perching well.
Recovery from anesthesia eventful.
Assessment: Left traumatic ischial fracture with mild displacement. Healing well.
Plan: Move to condo cage, discontinue the Tramadol and continue Gabapenting and Meloxicam for an additional week. After one week in condo will monitor and consider transfer to larger enclosure.

After speaking with Dr. Tracey, she recommends we give this birds up to 6 weeks quiet to heal considering he is muting and has full use of legs. She recommends placing him a deep box with thick shreddings to support the pelvic area. Will start gabapentin to keep slightly calm.
Update: Bird would not settle. Left in normal kennel, perched. Note to not grab and leave as quiet as possible. Is very much favoring right leg but resting with both legs equal.
